Furnace Installation in Lykens, PA
furnace installation in Lykens, PA 17048 — diagnosed before it is quoted, priced before the work starts.
We install furnaces in Lykens, and we would rather first tell you honestly whether you need one. A fair share of the systems we are called to quote on need a repair instead, and we say so.
Round-the-clock availability is standard marketing in this trade and usually means a message taken until morning. In Lykens it means somebody answers and somebody comes.
The venting question
If your old furnace shares a chimney with a gas water heater and you move to a sidewall-vented condensing unit, that water heater is left alone on a flue sized for two appliances. It may then be too cold and too large to draft safely, and relining belongs in the quote rather than in a surprise later.
Heating and cooling around Lykens
south-central Pennsylvania sits on a fuel boundary. Around Lykens natural gas serves the built-up areas while propane and oil cover the farms and the properties between them, so we stock for all three.
Agricultural buildings and farmhouses in Dauphin County often run oversized equipment installed when the building was far draughtier than it is now, which causes short cycling and uneven heat.
Higher efficiency is not automatically the right answer. It depends on your fuel cost, how long you intend to stay, and what the venting change involves — and we will show you that comparison honestly.
What happens when you call
Every technician working Lykens under the Plumsteadville HVAC Pros name follows the same sequence Frank Reilly used on his own in 2014: find the fault, price it, agree it, fix it.
We work the full 17048 area for Furnace Installation, and the surrounding towns from the same base, so a call from the edge of Lykens is no harder than one from the middle.

Furnace Installation in Lykens — questions
Do you cover Lykens for furnace installation?
Yes. Lykens in Dauphin County is inside our service area and the 17048 postal area is worked by the nearest crew. Call (215) 484-0300 at any hour, including nights, weekends and holidays.
How do you decide what size I need?
From a heat loss calculation for your actual house, not a rule of thumb and not by matching the old unit. Insulation and window upgrades mean many Lykens homes now need less furnace than they had.
Is a 95 percent furnace always better?
Not always. It depends on fuel cost, how long you will stay, and what the venting change involves — including whether a shared chimney needs relining for a water heater left on it.
Should I consider a heat pump instead?
For some Lykens properties, yes — particularly where you also want cooling, or where the alternative is electric resistance heat. We will give you the comparison for your actual house.
