AC Repair in Covington, PA
Plumsteadville HVAC Pros covers Covington for ac repair, 66 miles from the original Plumsteadville shop and a good deal closer than that in practice.
Summers around Lackawanna County are humid as well as hot, so an air conditioner in Covington has to pull moisture out of the air as well as drop the temperature. A unit that is merely running is not necessarily working.
Covington is covered overnight and through holidays. The crew dispatched is the nearest one working Lackawanna County, not whoever is free back in Plumsteadville.
The usual suspects
Humming with no fan is almost always a capacitor. Running without cooling is a dirty condenser, a leak, or a failing compressor. Ice on the indoor coil is airflow or charge. Water on the floor is the condensate drain.
Heating and cooling around Covington
Lackawanna County runs on a genuine mix: natural gas where the main reaches, oil and propane where it does not. In Covington that means a technician has to be equally comfortable with a cad cell and a flame sensor.
This is also anthracite country, and a handful of properties still have the chimney and flue arrangements of much older heating systems, which affects how modern equipment vents.
In a humid Lackawanna County summer an oversized system leaves a house cool and clammy, because it never runs long enough to dehumidify. That is a real comfort problem with real fixes.

AC Repair in Covington — questions
Do you cover Covington for ac repair?
Yes. Covington in Lackawanna County is inside our service area and the 18424 postal area is worked by the nearest crew. Call (215) 484-0300 at any hour, including nights, weekends and holidays.
How often does refrigerant need topping up?
Never, in a sealed system working correctly. If someone adds refrigerant every year without looking for a leak, you are paying repeatedly for the same unfixed fault.
There is water around the indoor unit. Is that serious?
It is a blocked condensate drain, and worth dealing with promptly before it reaches a ceiling. Many systems shut down on a float switch rather than overflow, so a unit that stops on a humid day is often this.
Why is my house cool but still clammy?
Usually an oversized system satisfying the thermostat before it has run long enough to dehumidify. Blower and staging adjustments help; sizing is the real answer at replacement time.
