Furnace Installation in Covington, PA
Plumsteadville HVAC Pros covers Covington for furnace installation, 66 miles from the original Plumsteadville shop and a good deal closer than that in practice.
A furnace fitted at the wrong size or vented badly will disappoint a Covington household for the next twenty years. Most of the value in this job sits in decisions made before anything is unboxed.
Call (215) 484-0300 at any hour and a person answers. No menu, no answering service, and no callback queue for a Covington house with no heat.
Sizing, done properly
A furnace should be sized from a heat loss calculation for your actual building — square footage, insulation, window area, air leakage, orientation and the local design temperature. That is a Manual J, not a rule of thumb per square foot and not matching whatever is being replaced.
Heating and cooling around Covington
Lackawanna County runs on a genuine mix: natural gas where the main reaches, oil and propane where it does not. In Covington that means a technician has to be equally comfortable with a cad cell and a flame sensor.
This is also anthracite country, and a handful of properties still have the chimney and flue arrangements of much older heating systems, which affects how modern equipment vents.
What happens when you call
If the honest answer is that the repair is not worth doing, we say so, including when a replacement would pay us considerably better. That is how the Covington work has grown by recommendation.

Furnace Installation in Covington — questions
Do you cover Covington for furnace installation?
Yes. Covington in Lackawanna County is inside our service area and the 18424 postal area is worked by the nearest crew. Call (215) 484-0300 at any hour, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Should I consider a heat pump instead?
For some Covington properties, yes — particularly where you also want cooling, or where the alternative is electric resistance heat. We will give you the comparison for your actual house.
Do I need a permit in Covington?
Often yes, but it is set locally rather than by the state, since Pennsylvania has no statewide HVAC contractor licence. We handle whatever your township requires.
How do you decide what size I need?
From a heat loss calculation for your actual house, not a rule of thumb and not by matching the old unit. Insulation and window upgrades mean many Covington homes now need less furnace than they had.
